Description
Environmentally friendly: from production to the product – this is the summary of the concept of power and heat supply of the factory of Mercedes-Benz engines in Jawor in Lower Silesia.
The plant will be fully neutral in terms of CO2 emissions. The basis of environmentally friendly energy supply will be renewable sources: wind and biomass. Jawor will thus become a model for all 30 factories of the Mercedes-Benz Cars network in the world.
Green electricity will be supplied to the factory by EWG Taczalin Sp. z o.o. directly from the Taczalin wind farm park located 12 km from Jawor. The farm consists of 22 Senvion wind turbines, with a nominal capacity of 2.05 MW each and a hub height of 100 m. In total, the wind farm park park has a rated power of 45.1 MW. With an annual electricity production of around 109 GWh, Taczalin park is capable of covering the estimated annual total demand of the Jawor Factory.
