Description
As a result of the capacity auctions held on 2017, Endesa, through EGPE (Enel Green Power España) , was awarded wind capacity of 540 MW and photovoltaic capacity of 339 MW:
- In 2018 start of construction works for the majority of the planned wind farms. 18 projects were chosen, located in the regions of Aragón, Andalucía, Castilla y León, and Galicia. They are expected to generate approximately 1,750 GWh annually and preventing the emission of 1,050,000 tons of CO2.
- In 2018 start of construction works of 7 solar energy plants located in the regions of Murcia and Badajoz, expected to generate approximately 640 GWh annually and preventing the emission of 348,000 tons of CO2.
ENDESA will invest approximately 820 million euros in the construction of the assets that will enter into operation in 2019.
Additionally EGPE acquired 100% of “Parques Eólicos Gestinver S.L” with five wind farms (131.5 MW) under operation in Galicia and Cataluña.
Following the path set by Endesa’s Strategic Plan for 2018-2020, the Strategic Plan for the 2019-2021 bets strongly on renewable generation, within the context of energy transition and with the main goal of achieving total decarbonization of our generation mix by 2050.
